Project Expectations

Kayla: Learn how to do mobile app, a functional app that looks professional that you are proud of, goal to get into DemoComp

Ben: Learn twilio, get into DemoComp, gain confidence with react native

Christopher: Feeling competent with python and django, pass project, get into DemoComp

Mary: Gaining confidence with python and django, learning about mobile apps, get into DemoComp

Team Strengths

Commitment to work. Ability to learn new things. Good communication, willingness to adapt Enthusiasm for project, ownership

Overcoming Obstacles

Communicating the issue and getting group feedback. Reaching out to outside resources when necessary. Keeping timers for each other to prevent rabbit holes. Keeping each other accountable.

Schedule Expectations

Backend: Working together to set up Django, then splitting stories WeekDays: Staying after school until 5:30/6pm Open for weekends

Communication Expectations

Using slack channgel. Communicating issues always in slack channel. Giving feedback for appropriate PR's. Having daily standup at 1PM. Planning evening work before leaving for the day between pairs (BE/FE), slack or in person.

Abilities Expectations

Mary: I want to improve my work process. I want to start to work in time complexity into searches as well as keeping things abstracted, i.e. helper methods, helper files

Christopher: Building app start to finish, complete a concept, using our processes and project boards to drive our app process

Ben: Work towards understanding of react native to be able to speak to it and the underlying concepts

Kayla: Growing in start to finish of app design and development

Ideas

Messages between mentors and mentees (or just users) for advice and support in the field of interest (web sockets?)

Using Google API to find nearby meetups and/or the find nearby mentors/peers

Using meetup API to get recommended meetups, maybe recommend meetups you and your connection have in common
