## EXCERPT FROM: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/windows-10-cast-to-not-recognizing-my-tv-anymore/0546e44e-f2a0-4fb7-9fbc-aa148d21c533
I think I may have found a solution. In a quest to find the answer to our problem, I read through several threads yesterday. I came upon one, did it myself, and so far, so good! Hope it also works for you.
(The following is a check list of things that need to be turned on, detected, etc).
1. Go to > Control Panel > Network & Sharing Center.
Look to the left column and click on > Change Advanced Sharing Settings.
Click on the arrow pointing downward by > Private (current profile). This will expand it.
Check the box > Turn On Network Discovery.
Check the box > Turn On Automatic Setup Of Connected Devices.
Close out the window.
2. Now go to "Search the web and Windows" (on the task bar) and type in > Media Streaming Options, and be sure to click on the "My Stuff" side.
Click on Media Streaming Options (with the colored icon next to it).
Now a page will open up called, Choose Media Streaming Options For Computers And Devices.
Make sure all boxes are checked to "Allowed".
Click on > Choose Default Settings..... Check "All Ratings". Make sure the "default" is unchecked.
Close out the window.
3. Click on the Windows logo (bottom left hand side of toolbar).
From the list choose > Settings.
Click on Devices.
Click on left hand side column > Connected Devices.
Under "Play Devices" your TV should be listed. If it is not, restart/reboot your computer and check the steps in #3 again.
If your TV is still not listed, you will need to "Add A Device".
So hopefully it will now work for you!
Some advise..... When your Cast To is finished playing a movie (or whatever) give it some time to remove (clear list) the move from the list and to shut down and close out after clicking on the X to close the program.
I am finding it takes the CAST TO a longer time to respond than the Play To did. Have some patience and wait for it to do it's thing because it is not as fast as the Play To used to be. Hopefully updates will fix this in the future. Another thing... and I know this sounds weird, but give the Cast To a little time to work properly. I had to. It was "buggy" for a bit, then it was ok. Maybe some of the program files had to find their way to the correct space, lol, I don't know. All I know is that today, after fiddling around with it yesterday, all is ok now and it works. Yeah!
