How to sync mp4s to iPad using VLC
* open iTunes
* plug in iPad
* top middle of screen, click on tiny grey icon, that sort of looks like an iPad (next to Music, Films, etc dropdown)
* middle left, click on 'File Sharing'
* choose orange VLC icon
* click Add, bottom right
* click Sync
* on iPad, run VLC app
