Sizes are Width
xHeight
in centimeters when looking at the sleeves in portrait.
These were measured with actual sleeves used on actual cases/box-sets. All sizes
listed exclude adhesive flap's. I.e., if the sleeve has no flap and is a sort of
slip-in sleeve, then it will cover the DVD case just enough.
When buying sleeves, make sure that you initially exclude the flap's measurement. This is to make sure the sleeve actually covers the full width and height of the DVD case.
From there, if buying a sleeve with a flap, I recommend one measuring roughly double to triple the depth of the case. Going any less than 150% depth will add strain to the adhesive and just in general be hard to fully cover the edge of the case.
With these formulas you should round up the measurements to the next centimeter, or it will be a very tight fit. Even if you are already in a full number. For even more safety, add another half a centimeter to the measurements.
For example, a standard case of 13.6x19x1.4cm~ (no flap) measures out to 15x20.4cm. You should instead round it up to 16x21cm for some wiggle room.
In the formulas we multiply the Case Depth for the flap. A multiplication of 2 will not allow the flap to wrap around the back, but it will cover the top. A value of 3 allows it to wrap around the back with enough slack.
