Install the AMD Drivers before plugging in your eGPU and disable the internal GPU in device-manager, note that I have a working windows 10 with my razer core x plugged in. It doesn't crash but I also still have code 12 (in device manager - go to your egpu), which means it's basically useless that it is working for now, since "it doesn't have any ressource to work with (aka an external monitor... which it has....)".
Hope you can make it work and maybe just maybe u find a solution for error code 12. Cheers

Prepare macOS to boot from the external drive. Install Windows 10 via VirtualBox on the external drive. Download Bootcamp drivers via Brigadier. Patch EFI partition <apple_set_os.efi v0.5>. Boot Windows 10. Install Bootcamp drivers. Install Bootcamp updates and reboot. Install Windows updates (many), drivers updates (optional, many) and reboot. Disable FaceTime Camera device. Once everything is up-to-date, turn off the computer. Turn on the computer with eGPU hot-plugged in Port 1 (try all available ports if this one does not work), press any key in apple_set_os.efi v0.5, boot into Windows 10. Install AMD drivers and ALWAYS reboot with eGPU connected in apple_set_os.efi v0.5. Done. Note 1: Only one port will work with the eGPU. (Tested on TB3 port 1 of 2 ~ MacBook Air 2019)
Note 2: Windows 10 standby will disconnect the eGPU.

Turn off your machine and unplug your eGPU. Boot up, holding OPTION, select your Windows partition. When the EFI boot menu loads, press 'Z' to skip it.
Windows should now load on your MacBook screen (it might load into Windows Recovery, if so just select the option to reboot into Windows and repeat the above process).
Once you're in Windows, install the April Red drivers.
Reboot, at the EFI boot plug in your eGPU and hit a key to load. Should be ok.
