These are setup steps to get a Mac working with a Win 8 VM running Visual Studio 2013.
Goals :
- Be able to dev using Visual Studio(or Xamarin Studio) utilizing AppBuilder and Xamarin for all platforms:

- Android
Mac Setup :
- Software :
- Sococo
- Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Xamarin Studio
- Source Tree
- LastPass
- Chrome
- Sublime Text
- Screencast-O-Matic
- Settings
- Login to Apple Store (Create an account if necessary)
- Company Resources Access :
- VPN Client (Sonic Wall from App Store)
- To access Share Launch finder Go > Connect to Server > share name
Xamarin :
- Run the Xamarin Installer
- Android
- Xamarin Android Player
- Install Google Play Service on the Android Player
- Android SDK was missing, so needed to re-run
- Download SDK Platforms for all Android Versions back to API 15
- iOS
- Install Xcode from app store
- Add account to Xcode :
- Download iOS 7 Simulators : XCode > Preferences > Downloads
- Import existing signing Identity or revoke existing and create new
- If you submit a request for a new signing identity it needs to be approved
Win VM Setup :
- Software :
- VM Ware Fusion 7
- Win 8.1 iso
- Example : Windows 8.1 Pro VL with Update (x64) from MSDN
- Visual Studio 2013 Update 4
- IIS
- Windows Features > Internet Information Services
- SSMS
- Telerik Appbuilder Visual Studio Extension
- VM Settings :
- 8gb RAM
- 2 CPUs
- Enable Full Resolution under display
- Enable Hyper V
- Install VMWare Tools
- Edit VM config as described here :
