This document sets forth an understanding of copyright related issues between you, Contributor
and the editors of the Book
, tentatively titled The PowerShell Conference Book Volume 3
.
The Book
is being developed and sold as a charitable, not-for-profit, venture.
Your participation is considered entirely voluntary.
Your contributions to the project, which includes your time, written material, and PowerShell code are to be considered charitable contributions.
The only Contributor
compensation will be one (1) free electronic copy of the Book
from the original publisher.
All royalties and income generated from sales of the Book
will be contributed to charitable cause.
That cause is currently designated to support scholarships as part of the OnRamp program sponsored by The DevOps Collective.
More information is available here.
The copyright holder of record for the Book
will be The DevOps Collective, Inc.
.
The copyright holder will reserve all rights for the Book
for as long as the Book
is published and sold.
Even though you are surrendering full copyright to the designated copyright holder, this does not mean you give up all rights to your material.
You are still entitled to fair use of your material.
You are permitted to re-publish, re-purpose or re-use reasonable length excerpts from your contributions with the provision that you credit the Book
.
You can re-use any PowerShell-related code without restriction, although a reference to the Book
would be appreciated.
It is expected that you will not re-publish, re-sell, distribute or give away your chapter(s) as published in final form in the Book
as this would devalue the nature of this project.
You have the right to withdraw from the project at anytime, up to the point of initial publication of your material.
At which point none of your contributions will be included and all rights to your contributions revert to Contributor
.
If at some point in time the BOOK
is removed from public sale or otherwise marked as "out of print", "retired" or "archived", all rights for respective contributions revert to the Contributor
.
Continued participation in the Book
project, including submission of content and code, indicates that you have read, understand and agree to the items in this agreement.
