Notes for working with Xcode VIM mode

Xcode VIM

Learning VIM in Xcode comes with its own set of challenges and limitations, but there is enough there for you to give your mousing hand a break and master the keyboard.

A limited set of commands are available in Xcode, and this document attempts help ease the learning curve of using VIM in Xcode by providing a handy reference as well as what I find works for me in practice.

NOTE: Commands are case-sensitive. A command of N means pressing shift + n on the keyboard.

This document is a work in progress! Leave a comment if you would like to see a change.

CircleCI does not support checks for existence of a cache key without restoring the full cache. Save a tiny key in parallel with the cache to allow bailing out faster if the cache already exists. More documentation on the approach and the code I started from (thanks TzookB!) is here: https://tzookb.com/circleci-project-deepdive

Installing Supervisor on AWS EC2 and Beanstalk

This gist may help you to install supervisor Manually on AWS Beanstalk host. I was enable to install and configure referring supervisor docs. Here are the steps by which I was able to use supervisor on my project.

Note: I have performed this steps on Laravel project and my instance was Debian powered. You can change according to your requirement.

  • Check python with easy_install is installed
  • Install supervisor > $ easy_install supervisor
  • Create directory for supervisor workers > mkdir /etc/supervisor/conf.d/
  • Create laravel worker file > touch /etc/supervisor/conf.d/laravel-worker.conf
