I am currently working on updating this guide after updating my media server. I have added notes on things I no longer use but may update those sections in the future for users who still use them. As of now, I have everything working with the exception of Ombi and the plugins I no longer use.
Create file /etc/systemd/system/docker-compose@.service
. SystemD calling binaries using an absolute path. In my case is prefixed by /usr/local/bin
, you should use paths specific for your environment.

I will be moving from FreeNAS jails to ubuntu with docker, docker compose, and portainer. FreeNAS support and updates are lacking. There are many advantages to making the switch and with ZFS on linux I think FreeNAS may be a thing of the past. Stay tuned for a new guide of my latest setup.
