The Hue sync box outputs to TV's HDMI 2 input only to make it happy that the signal is ending up somewhere

If I don't do this the sync stops every time there's a signal change (input change or HDR on/off). My TV is on HDMI 1 permanently.

No Dolby Vision because Samsung TV

I use HDMI 2 input on the Hue Sync Box because that's the Dolby Vision port and potentially (?) has higher bandwidth...? But it doesn't actually matter since the sync works on all ports. Might be different for Dolby Vision user who should stick with HDMI 2.

This system might look like a lot but everything hidden

The receiver and all inputs are in the media closet (pictured). The HDMI and speaker cables are in conduits under the floor and in the walls.

The HDMI splitter, sync box, and other things like the Hue hub (not diagrammed) as well the power supplies are hidden behind the TV.
