We entered the last Github Game Off last November, we did this game (wich right now is not as updated as the android one, but it will be soon)
Unfortunately we didn't win anything, and it's ok, there were a lot of good games in the competition so we were satisfied with the results. But a good thing came from the compo, our game.
To give you some background, we are 2 guys from Guatemala trying to make games for a living, we started a company called 502 Studios a few months ago, and 'Escape The Mine', the game we submited to the GGO is our first finished game, and we just published it to the Play Store a couple of weeks ago.
We are trying really hard to make 'Escape The Mine' the best game we can, even though is our first one and we are still learning a lot of stuff. We are trying to make updates every couple of weeks, adding new levels and fixing bugs. So if anyone has some feedback on what we could improve in the game, we woul really aprecciate it.
And if there is any game developer reading this too, we would love to get some tips on how we can make this a sustainable business in a country where there is virtually no game industry, or any protip you would like to share with us.
I hope you enjoy the game as much as we have enjoyed making it and here is the link:
P.S: In case you are wondering what we used for developing the game, and how we ported the game so quickly from Web to Android, we are using PlayN. The library itself it is still early in development, but thanks to the magic of Open Source is evolving really fast.
