Go to https://claude.ai/chat/new (or any other chat you had in the past).

Then run this code:

Re-Enable sudo from crosh on R117+ Chrome OS without recompiling

Short guide on how to bypass this:

If you haven't disabled rootfs verification, switch to vt-2 and run /usr/libexec/debugd/helpers/dev_features_rootfs_verification. Then reboot.

Inside crostini, download minioverride.c and compile it with gcc minioverride.c -o minioverride.so -shared (make sure gcc is installed)

In the files app, move minioverride.so into your downloads folder.

syncthing setup exclusively with CLI

After long searching I did not find a good description of how to set up Syncthing that works exclusively via CLI without using a Web browser on the devices.

This is useful for example on a headless Raspberry Pi without proxying web-traffic through SSH or with port-forwarding limitations. In this example we will want to share the default folder from Machine A with Machine B

A curated list of command-line utilities written in Rust

A curated list of command-line utilities written in Rust

Note: I have moved this list to a proper repository. I'll leave this gist up, but it won't be updated. To submit an idea, open a PR on the repo.

Note that I have not tried all of these personally, and cannot and do not vouch for all of the tools listed here. In most cases, the descriptions here are copied directly from their code repos. Some may have been abandoned. Investigate before installing/using.

The ones I use regularly include: bat, dust, fd, fend, hyperfine, miniserve, ripgrep, just, cargo-audit and cargo-wipe.

A tutorial to use GUI in WSL2 replacing original XServer by Xvnc, allowing WSL to work like native Linux, including login screen

WSL2 with GUI using Xvnc

Note

If you want to use pure WSLg, you can try the new WSLg (XWayland) tutorial or the WSLg (Wayland) tutorial.

In this tutorial, we will setup GUI in WSL2, and access it using VNC. No additional software outside WSL (like VcXsrv) is required, except, of course, a VNC Viewer (RealVNC, TightVNC, TigerVNC, UVNC, etc, all of them might work flawlessly).

The key component we need to install is the desktop metapackage you want (GNOME, KDE, Xfce, Budgie, etc) and tigervnc-standalone-server.

For this setup, I will use Ubuntu (20.04, 22.04 and 24.04 are working), and install GNOME Desktop. Since the key components aren't bound to Ubuntu or GNOME, you can use your favorite distro and GUI. Check the [Sample

Comprehensive guide to dual boot arch & windows

Dual booting Arch linux & Windows 10

There are already dozens of tutorials to setup an Arch and Windows dual boot - welcome to a dozen + 1. Like most others this is a step by step guide. Unlike most others the steps are ordered in a way that makes sense (starting with the download first - duh!) so you won't have to restart your computer a gazillion times.

I did this on a single SSD Dell XPS 15 with windows 10 preinstalled. It's obviously possible to follow this guide if you're installing Arch onto a different drive or if you're running older hardware. If you run into any problems please be sure to read through the Arch Installation Guide and the Arch Dual boot with Windows wiki.

To get started you will need:

  • a stable internet connection
  • a USB key with 1GB storage
  • a cup of coffee & and a can do attitude
