A MANIFESTO CYBERPUNK Christian As.Kirtchev translated by Auril We are the electronic minds, a group of rebels free thoughts. Cyberpunk. We live in Cyberspace, we are in all places, we have no limits. This is our manifesto. The cyberpunk manifesto.

I.Cyberpunk
1 / That's us, the Different. Technology rats, swimming in the ocean of information. 2 / We are embarrassed, little guys from school, sitting at the last desk, in the corner of the classroom. 3 / We are the teenager everybody considers strange. 4 / We are studying hacking operating systems, exploring the depth of his ends. 5 / We grew up in the park, sitting on a bench with a laptop resting on his knees, programming the last virtual reality. 6 / Ours is the garage, stacked with electronic junk. The soldier iron in the corner of the table near the desmontada- radius that is ours. Ours is a room with computers, printers and modems zumbeantes beeping. 7 / We are those that see reality differently. Our point of view shows more than ordinary people can see. They only see the outside, but we see it inside. That is what we are-realistic glasses of dreamers. 8 / We are those people almost unknown to the neighborhood. People, delivered to their own thoughts, sitting day after day before the computer, ransacking Network for something. No frequently left home alone from time to time to go to the nearby radio studio or a popular bar to meet some of the few friends we have, or to meet a client, or Camel corner ... or just to stroll. 9 / We do not have many friends, only a few with whom we go on holiday. Everyone else we know are on the Internet, on the other side of the line. We know them from our favorite IRC channel, from newsgroups, systems we frequent: 10 / We are those that we give a shit what others think of us, no matter what we seem or what people say about us in our absence. 11 / Most of us live in hiding, being unknown to everybody except those who are inevitably in contact with them. 12 / Others love publicity, they love fame. They are known in the underground world. Their names are easily heard there. But all together are one thing-we are the cyberpunk.

13 / Society does not understand us, we are "weird" and "crazy" people in the eyes of ordinary people who live far from information and free ideas. Society denies our way of thinking a society, living, thinking and breathing in a unique way, a topic. 14 / They despise us because we think freely, and free thinking is forbidden. 15 / The Cyberpunk has outer appearance, the lack of movement. The cyberpunk are people that start from normal and know what everyone knows, until the artist "technomaniac" to the musician playing electronic music, to the superficial school. 16 / The Cyberpunk is no longer a genre of literature, nor is it an ordinary subculture. The cyberpunk is itself a new culture, children of the new age. A culture that unites all our common interests and views. We are united. We are the cyberpunk.

II. Society
1 / The Society which surrounds us is stuck to the conservatism and the "everything for them," while covalently sinking in the quicksand of time. 2 / However, some stubborn refuse to believe this, the obvious is to live in a rotten society. Calls reforms that our governments use to boast, they are nothing more than a small step forward, which could be made more successfully with a jump. 3 / People fear the new and the unknown. They prefer the old, the known and have proven themselves. They fear what may befall again. They fear losing what they already have. 4 / Their fear is so strong that this enemy is proclaimed revolutionary and liberal idea is a weapon. This is their mistake. 5 / People must leave their fears behind and move on. In the sense that what little they now have will multiply in the morning. All they have to do is close your fists and feel the new; give freedom to thoughts, ideas, to words: 6 / For centuries, generations have been educated in the same way. Ideals are what we all seek. Individuality is forgotten. People think the same way, following a model imposed on them from their youth, "education-model" for all children; and, when someone dares defy authority, he is punished. "This is what happens when you express your own opinion and this is different from the teacher." 7 / Our society is sick and needs to be cured. The cure is a change in the system ....

III. The System
1 / The System. With centuries old, it based on principles that are not valid today. A system that has not changed much since his birth. 2 / The system is wrong. 3 / The System must impose its truth on our own to send. The government needs us to follow blindly. For this reason, we live in an informational eclipse. When people acquire more information than provided by the government, they can not distiguir what is correct and what is not. So the lie becomes a truth truth, fundamental to everything else. Thus the leaders control with lies to the ordinary people who lack the notion of what is true and follow the government blindly, believing them. 4 / We fight to release the information. We fight for freedom of speech and press. For the freedom to express our thoughts freely, without being persecuted by the system. 5 / Even in the most democratic and developed countries who claim to be the cradle of free speech. Misinformation is one of the main weapons system. A weapon they use very well. 6 / La Red is the nosayuda to expand our thoughts freely. Network without barriers or limits information. 7 / Ours is yours, yours is ours. 8 / Everyone can share information, no restrictions. 9 / The encryption of information is our weapon. Thus the words of revolution can spread uninterrupted, and the government can only guess. 10 / The Net is our essence, in the Network are the kings. 11 / Law. The world is changing, but the laws are the same. The System is not changing, only a few features to be coated with the times, but basically it's all the same. 12 / We need new laws. Laws, which conform to the times in which we live, the world around us. No laws built on the foundations of the past. Laws, for today, laws, that fit tomorrow. 13 / The laws that only relate to us. Laws that badly need revision.

IV. The Vision
1 / Some people do not care what happens in the world. They care what happens around them, in their micro-universe. 2 / These people can only see a dark future, for they only see the life of themselves now. 3 / Other people, is more aware on what happens globally. They are interested in everything, in the perspective of the future, what will happen in the world. 4 / They have a more optimistic attitude. For them the future is cleaner and nicer, it can be seen in a more mature man in the wider world. 5 / We are in the middle. We are interested in what is happening now and what tomorrow's going to happen. 6 / note Network, and the Network is growing and becoming wider. 7 / Soon everything in this world will be absorbed by the network: from the military systems to the PC at home. 8 / But the net is the house of Anarchy. 9 / It can not be controlled and therein lies its power. 10 / Every man will be independent on the Web. 11 / All the information is here, locked into the abyss of zeros and ones. 12 / He who controls the network, control the information. 13 / We live in a mixture of past and present. 14 / The evil comes from man and the good of the technology. 15 / La Red will control the little guy and we will control the net. 16 / But if you do not control, will be controlled. 17 / The Information is POWER!

V. Where are we?
1 / Where are we? 2 / We all live in a sick world, where hatred is a weapon and peace a dream. 3 / The world grows slowly. It is hard for a Cyberpunk to live in an underdeveloped world, with some people observe their own strong development 4 / We go ahead, and they push us back. Society suppresses us. Yes, suppress freedom of thought. With cruel education programs in schools and universities. Crushed children with their views and punish and deny any different intent. 5 / Our kids grow educated in this old and still unchanged system. A system that tolerates no freedom of thought and demands a strict obedience to the rules ... 6 / We would live in a very different world than this if people do steps and no gaps. 7 / It is difficult to live in this world cyberpunk. 8 / It is as if time had stopped. 9 / We live in the right place but not at the right time. 10 / Everything is so ordinary, people are the same, their actions are too. As if society feel an intense necesitad to live back in time. 11 / Some try to find their own world, the world Cyberpunk, and finding it, build their world. They build their thoughts change reality, are delivered to these and live in a virtual world. Inventions, create reality: 12 / Others, however, the world is accustomed as it is. They still live on, but not like. They have no choice but to wait for the world to remain well and continue forward 13 / What we try to do is change the situation. We are trying to adjust the present world to our needs and views. To adapt it to its full function and forget the garbage. When we can not, we just live in this world, such as cyberpunk, no matter how difficult it is, when society fights us contrarrestaremos. 14 / We contruimos our worlds in Cyberspace. 15 / A lot of zeros and ones, lots of bits of information. 16 / We build our community. The community of cyberpunk.

<p><font color="#B2B2B2" size="-1" face="Courier New, Courier, mono">1/ Esos somos nosotros, lo Diferente. Ratas de la tecnolog&iacute;a, nadando en el oc&eacute;ano de la informaci&oacute;n. 2/ Estamos cohibidos, peque&ntilde;os chicos de colegio, sentados en el &uacute;ltimo pupitre, en la esquina de la clase. 3/ Somos el adolescente que todos consideran extra&ntilde;o. 4/ Estamos estudiando hackear sistemas operativos, explorando la profundidad de su extremos. 5/ Nos criamos en el parque, sentados en un banco, con un ordenador portatil apoyado en las rodillas, programando la &uacute;ltima realidad virtual. 6/ Lo nuestro est&aacute; en el garage, apilado con la porquer&iacute;a electr&oacute;nica. El hierro soldado en la esquina de la mesa y cercana a la radio desmontada- eso es lo nuestro. Lo nuestro es una habitaci&oacute;n con ordenadores, impresoras zumbeantes y modems pitando. 7/ Somos aquellos que vemos la realidad de forma distinta. Nuestro punto de vista muestra m&aacute;s de lo que la gente ordinaria puede ver. Ellos solo ven lo exterior, pero nosotros vemos lo interior. Eso es lo que somos- realistas con gafas de so&ntilde;adores. 8/ Somos aquellas personas casi desconocidas para el vecindario. Personas, entregadas a sus propios pensamientos, sentadas d&iacute;a tras d&iacute;a ante el ordenador, saqueando la Red por algo. No salimos frecuentemente de casa, solo de vez en cuando para ir al cercano estudio de radio, o a un conocido bar a encontrarse a algunos de los pocos amigos que tenemos, o encontrarnos a alg&uacute;n cliente, o al camello de la esquina,... o simplemente para dar un paseo. 9/ No tenemos muchos amigos, s&oacute;lo unos pocos con los que nos vamos de fiesta. Todos los dem&aacute;s que conocemos est&aacute;n en la Red, en el otro lado de la l&iacute;nea. Los conocemos de nuestro canal favorito de IRC, de los newsgroups, de los sistemas que frecuentamos : 10/ Nosotros somos aquellos los que nos importa una mierda lo que los dem&aacute;s piensen de nosotros, no nos importa lo que aparentamos o lo que la gente diga sobre nosotros en nuestra ausencia. 11/ La mayor&iacute;a de nosotros viven escondidos, siendo desconocidos para todos menos a aquellos que inevitablemente est&aacute;n en contacto con ellos. 12/ Otros aman la publicidad, ellos aman la fama. Ellos son conocidos en su mundo underground. Sus nombres se escuchan con facilidad all&iacute;. Pero todos unidos somos una sola cosa- nosotros somos los cyberpunks.</font>&nbsp; </p>
<p><font color="#B2B2B2" size="-1" face="Courier New, Courier, mono">13/ La sociedad no nos entiende, somos los "raros" y los "locos", personas que a ojos de la gente normal que viven lejos de la informaci&oacute;n y las ideas libres. La sociedad niega nuestra manera de pensar- una sociedad, viviendo, pensando y respirando de una &uacute;nica manera- un t&oacute;pico. 14/ Ellos nos desprecian porque pensamos de forma libre, y el pensamiento libre est&aacute; prohibido. 15/ El cyberpunk tiene una apariencia externa, el carece de movimiento. Los cyberpunks son personas que, comienzan desde lo normal y saben lo que todos conocen, hasta el artista "tecnoman&iacute;aco", hasta el m&uacute;sico que toca m&uacute;sica electr&oacute;nica, a los superficiales escolares. 16/ El cyberpunk ya no es un genero de literatura, tampoco es una ordinaria subcultura. El cyberpunk es en si misma una nueva cultura, hijos de la nueva era. Una cultura que une todos nuestro intereses comunes y vistas. Nosotros estamos unidos. Nosotros somos los cyberpunks.</font></p></td>

<p><font color="#B2B2B2" size="-1" face="Courier New, Courier, mono">1/ La sociedad la que nos rodea est&aacute; atascada en el conservadorismo y en el "todo para ellos", mientras se hunde lentemente en las arenas movedizas del tiempo. 2/ Sin embargo, algunos obstinados rehusan a creer esto, lo obvio es que vivimos en una sociedad podrida. Las llamadas reformas que nuestros gobiernos utilizan para enorgullecerse, no son m&aacute;s que un peque&ntilde;o paso adelante, que podr&iacute;an ser hechas m&aacute;s satisfactoriamente con un salto. 3/ La gente teme lo nuevo y lo desconocido. Ellos prefieren lo antiguo, lo conocido y lo que ellos mismos han comprobado. Ellos temen lo que lo nuevo pueda acaecerles. Ellos temen perder lo que ya tienen. 4/ Su temor es tan fuerte que esto es proclamado enemigo revolucionario e idea liberal- es un arma. Este es su error. 5/ Las personas deben dejar sus temores atr&aacute;s y seguir adelante. En el sentido de que lo poco que ahora tengas podr&aacute; multiplicarse en el ma&ntilde;ana. Todo lo que ellos tienen que hacer es cerrar sus pu&ntilde;os y sentir lo nuevo; dar libertad a los pensamientos, ideas, a las palabras: 6/ Durante siglos las generaciones han sido educadas de una misma manera. Los ideales son lo que todos buscan. Se olvida la individualidad. La gente piensa de una misma forma, siguiendo un modelo impuesto en ellos desde su juventud, la "educaci&oacute;n-modelo" para todos los ni&ntilde;os : y, cuando alguno se atreve desafiar la autoridad, es castigado. " Esto es lo que pasa cuando expresas tu propia opini&oacute;n y esta es diferente a la del profesor ". 7/ Nuestra sociedad est&aacute; enferma y necesita ser curada. La cura es un cambio en el sistema....&nbsp;</font></p></td>

<p><font color="#B2B2B2" size="-1" face="Courier New, Courier, mono">1/ El Sistema. Con siglos de antiguedad, basada en principios que no son validos actu&aacute;lmente. Un sistema que no ha cambiado mucho desde su nacimiento. 2/ El Sistema est&aacute; equivocado. 3/ El Sistema debe imponer su verdad sobre la nuestra para poder mandar. El gobierno necesita que nosotros la sigamos ciegamente. Por esta raz&oacute;n, vivimos en un eclipse informativo. Cuando las personas adquieren m&aacute;s informaci&oacute;n de la que da el gobierno, no pueden distiguir cu&aacute;l es correcta y cu&aacute;l no. As&iacute; que la mentira se hace verdad- una verdad, fundamental para todo lo dem&aacute;s. As&iacute; los l&iacute;deres controlan con mentiras a la gente ordinaria que carecen de la noci&oacute;n de cual es la verdad y ciegamente siguen al gobierno, crey&eacute;ndolos. 4/ Nosotros luchamos para liberar la informaci&oacute;n. Nosotros combatimos por la libertad de expresi&oacute;n y de prensa. Por la libertad de expresar nuestros pensamientos libremente, sin ser perseguidos por el Sistema. 5/ Incluso en los pa&iacute;ses m&aacute;s democr&aacute;ticos y desarrollados que pretenden ser la cuna de la libertad de expresi&oacute;n. La mala informaci&oacute;n es una de las principales armas del Sistema. Un arma que ellos dominan muy bien. 6/ La Red es la que nosayuda a expandir nuestros pensamientos libremente. La Red sin barreras ni limites de informaci&oacute;n. 7/ Lo nuestro es tuyo, lo tuyo es nuestro. 8/ Todo el mundo puede compartir la informaci&oacute;n, sin restricciones. 9/ La encriptaci&oacute;n de informaci&oacute;n es nuestra arma. As&iacute; las palabras de la revoluci&oacute;n pueden expandirse ininterrumpidamente, y el gobierno s&oacute;lo puede intentar adivinar. 10/ La Red es nuestra esencia, en la Red somos los reyes. 11/ Leyes. El mundo est&aacute; cambiando, pero las leyes son las mismas. El Sistema no est&aacute; cambiando, s&oacute;lo unos pocos rasgos para revestirse a los nuevos tiempos, pero en el fondo es todo lo mismo. 12/ Nosotros necesitamos nuevas leyes. Leyes, que se ajusten a los tiempos en que vivimos, con el mundo que nos rodea. No leyes construidas en las bases del pasado. Leyes, para hoy, leyes, que se ajusten al ma&ntilde;ana. 13/ Las leyes que s&oacute;lo se refieren a nosotros. Leyes que desesperadamente necesitan revisi&oacute;n.</font></p></td>

<p><font color="#B2B2B2" size="-1" face="Courier New, Courier, mono">1/ A algunas personas no les importa lo que sucede en el mundo. A ellos les importa lo que suceden en su alrededor, en su micro-universo. 2/ Estas personas s&oacute;lo pueden ver un futuro oscuro, porque ellos s&oacute;lo ven la vida de ellos mismos ahora. 3/ Otras personas, se muestran m&aacute;s concienciadas en lo que ocurra globalmente. Ellos est&aacute;n interesados en todo, en la perspectiva del futuro, en lo que va a pasar en el mundo. 4/ Ellos tienen una actitud m&aacute;s optimista. Para ellos el futuro es limpio y m&aacute;s bonito, pueden ver en esto a un hombre m&aacute;s maduro en un mundo m&aacute;s amplio. 5/ Nosotros estamos en el medio. Estamos interesados en lo que ocurre ahora y en lo que va a ocurrir el d&iacute;a de ma&ntilde;ana. 6/ Observamos la Red, y la Red esta creciendo y haciendose m&aacute;s amplia. 7/ Pronto todo en este mundo ser&aacute; absorvido por la Red: desde los sistemas militares hasta el PC de casa. 8/ Pero la Red es la casa de la Anarqu&iacute;a. 9/ No puede ser controlada y en eso radica su poder. 10/ Cada hombre ser&aacute; independiente en la Red. 11/ Toda la informaci&oacute;n estar&aacute; aqu&iacute;, cerrada en el abismo de ceros y unos. 12/ El que controla la Red, controla la informaci&oacute;n. 13/ Vivimos en una mezcla del pasado y el presente. 14/ El mal proviene del hombre y el bien de la tecnolog&iacute;a. 15/ La Red controlar&aacute; al peque&ntilde;o individuo y nosotros controlaremos la Red. 16/ Pero, si tu no controlas, ser&aacute;s controlado. 17/ La informaci&oacute;n es el PODER!&nbsp;</font></p></td>

<p><font color="#B2B2B2" size="-1" face="Courier New, Courier, mono">1/ &iquest;D&oacute;nde estamos? 2/ Todos nosotros vivimos en un mundo enfermo, donde el odio es un arma y la paz un sue&ntilde;o. 3/ El mundo crece lentamente. Es dif&iacute;cil para un cyberpunk vivir en un mundo subdesarrollado, con gente alrededor suya que observan su fuerte desarrollo 4/ Nosotros vamos hacia adelante, y ellos nos empujan hacia atr&aacute;s. La sociedad nos suprime. S&iacute;, suprimen la libertad de pensamiento. Con crueles programas de educaci&oacute;n en colegios y universidades. Machacan a los ni&ntilde;os con sus puntos de vista y castigan y niegan todo intento diferente. 5/ Nuestros hijos crecen educados en este viejo y a&uacute;n no cambiado sistema. Un sistema que no tolera la libertad de pensamiento y demanda una estricta obediencia a las reglas... 6/ Vivir&iacute;amos en un mundo muy distinto de este si las personas hicieran escalones y no huecos. 7/ Es dif&iacute;cil vivir en este mundo, cyberpunk. 8/ Es como si se hubiera detenido el tiempo. 9/ Vivimos en el lugar correcto pero no en el tiempo correcto. 10/ Todo es tan ordinario, la gente es la misma, sus actos tambi&eacute;n lo son. Como si la sociedad sintiera una necesitad intensa de vivir atr&aacute;s en el tiempo. 11/ Algunos intentan encontrar su propio mundo, el mundo Cyberpunk, y encontr&aacute;ndolo, construyen su mundo. Construyen sus pensamientos que cambian la realidad, se entregan a estos y viven en un mundo virtual. Los inventos, crean la realidad : 12/ Otros, en cambio, se acostumbran el mundo tal y como es. Ellos siguen viviendo en el, aunque no les guste. Ellos no tienen otra elecci&oacute;n que esperar que el mundo se mantenga bien y siga hacia adelante 13/ Lo que intentamos hacer es cambiar la situaci&oacute;n. Estamos intentando ajustar el mundo presente a nuestras necesidades y visiones. Para adecuarlo a su m&aacute;xima funci&oacute;n y olvidar la basura. Cuando nosotros no podemos, simplemente vivimos en este mundo, como los cyberpunks, no importa lo dif&iacute;cil que sea, cuando luche la sociedad nosotros los contrarrestaremos. 14/ Nosotros contruimos nuestros mundos en el Ciberespacio. 15/ Un mont&oacute;n de ceros y unos, un mont&oacute;n de bits de informaci&oacute;n. 16/ Construimos nuestra comunidad. La comunidad de los CYBERPUNKS.</font></p></td>
