TLDR:
- Gitcoin needs to solve sybil resistance to grow (seems very important in Kevin's presentation!), so Gitcoin is introducing "Gitcoin Passport"
- Unique identities enable interesting coordination algorithms
- e.g. increasing funding allocation to projects that are funded by distinct user groups that rarely fund similar projects. Might be indicative of a "shared need")
- Gitcoin is using DIDs and VCs stored on the Ceramic network to provide "Gitcoin Passport" for its users
-
Every time you verify with POAP, BrightID, Proof of Humanity, you get a stamp and we aggregate it into a sybil-resistance score

Notes:
-
["Decentralised Society" paper by Vitalik is basically a] directed graph of soulbound tokens that are hopefully privacy preserving that let us consensually attest to what we've been doing in the web3 ecosystem.
-

Every time you verify with POAP, BrightID, Proof of Humanity, you get a stamp and we aggregate it into a sybil-resistance score
-
POAPs are one of the densest data sets in the ecosystem
-
Gitcoin grants already has 100,000 users that set up their passports
