Contributor License Agreement (Individual)

Thank you for your interest in contributing to bconf.org!
Before we can accept your contributions, we kindly ask you to read and agree to the terms below by electronically signing this Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement"). This agreement ensures that we have the legal right to use your contributions in our project and to re-license the project if necessary.

  1. Definitions
  • "You" means the individual who is submitting this agreement.
  • "Contribution" means any work of authorship, including any modifications or additions to an existing work, that is intentionally submitted by You to the bconf.org repository (the "Project"). "Submitted" means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent to the Project, including but not limited to code submissions, patches, documentation, suggestions, or issues through source code repositories, issue trackers, or mailing lists.
  1. Grant of Copyright License Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, You hereby grant to bconf.org repository owner(s) and its successors, affiliates, and licensees a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to:
  • Use, reproduce, distribute, and publicly perform or display the Contribution.
  • Prepare derivative works of the Contribution.
  • Distribute and sublicense derivative works of the Contribution.

This license includes the right to sublicense the Contribution to third parties under the same terms.

  1. Grant of Patent License
    You also grant to bconf.org repository owner(s) a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license under any patent claims You own or control that are necessary to use, distribute, and reproduce the Contribution or any derivative works of the Contribution.

  2. You Represent That:

  • Original Work: The Contribution is Your original work, and You have the necessary rights to make this Contribution.
  • No Violation of Rights: Your Contribution does not violate any third-party intellectual property rights or any laws or regulations.
  • No Obligations: The Contribution is provided voluntarily, without any expectation of compensation, and does not create an obligation of any kind for bconf.org repository owner(s).
  • No Further Approvals: bconf.org repository owner(s) may use the Contribution at its discretion, and You will not require further approvals or licenses for its use.
  1. Future Contributions
    This agreement applies to all Contributions You submit to the Project after the date of submission, unless modified or terminated by You. You may stop contributing at any time, but any past Contributions will continue to be governed by this Agreement.

  2. Termination
    This Agreement will remain in effect until terminated by either You or bconf.org repository owner(s). You may terminate this Agreement by giving written notice to contact@bconf.org. However, termination will not affect any rights granted to the Project for Contributions made before the termination date.

  3. Governing Law
    This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Alberta, Canada, excluding its conflict of laws principles.

  4. Miscellaneous

  • No Employment: This Agreement does not constitute an employment contract between You and bconf.org repository owner(s).
  • Amendments: This Agreement may only be amended by a written instrument signed by both parties.
  • Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

By signing this document electronically, You agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Contributor License Agreement.
