In our daily life we rely heavily on technology. Even as technically advanced people we don’t know every bit involved in the modern web. I will take you on an adventurous tour of browsing the web, understanding the nitty gritty details of networking, name resolution, global network providers, and the HTTP/2 protocol.

sounds good, I'd go see this talk! 😸
I feel the title is too long and does not really represent the message of your abstract. The abstract on the other hand sounds quite interesting.
@emmajane I think it's good to know the technical details of the web platform when one is using the web. It also helps debugging and writing performance critical applications. I also do think that there is a ton of stuff hidden, like compression algorithms, the dns protocol and all this kind of thing. Thanks for the feedback!
@PurpleBooth thanks a bunch! ✨
@skoop I feel finding the right title is really really hard. I rewrote the title three times already, but I will keep thinking about it. Thanks for the feedback!
Agree title is too long. Maybe something like:
"Loading a web page: The adventure" ?
I'd try to rephrase "technically advanced people", that sentence sounds a bit weird.
Good luck!
@Nesquick: just thinking out loud here, but something like
"The 4 steps from request to server" (where 4 could be any number of steps you'll discuss)
"Things you didn't know about about your request"
@Nesquick: I think this is a great description for a meetup! :)
As a conference session, I don't feel there is enough information to tempt me into buying a ticket to the conference. Why does it matter that I don't know how the web works? What problems will you help me to solve by telling me about these things?
