- Backup your data to an external drive and ensure it is OK. You're going to wipe your computer's hard disk so you must have an external copy.
- Check that you have located and backed up all your data to the external drive. This step is extremely important because you always forget something.
- Download the ISO of Linux Mint you want to use.
- Download either Balena Etcher or Virtualbox depending on your situation.
- Install either Balena Etcher or Virtualbox depending on your situation.
- If you're using Balena Etcher copy the Linux Mint ISO to the small USB Stick.
- Reboot your computer with the small USB Stick inserted
or
start VirtualBox and create a new VM.
