Any font weight, font-style and superset (ex. Nerd Font) can be used for all text in the terminal. I personally use Hack Bold Nerd Font for thicker text and icons in VIM using ryanoasis/vim-devicons
.
Providing a direct link to the font in the Nerd Fonts repo while configuring a new font inside Blink didn't work for me but this solution does. Also, installing the Hack Bold Nerd Font in iOS was not enough for it show up on the list in Blink. It could be because Blink didn't recognize it as a mono font.
Steps To Use Any Custom Font In Blink Shell:
- Install an app for adding fonts to iOS (ex. AnyFont).
- Open an iOS app which supports all custom fonts, also mono fonts (ex. Keynote). Find the custom font in the list of fonts in the app and remember the font's name.
- Create a gist similar to:
@font-face {
font-family: "HackNF"; /*Can be any name. Make sure it's unique.*/
src: local('Hack Nerd Font Mono'); /*Name from Keynote. local(...) tells Blink to search iOS for the font instead of trying to download it from the internet.*/
}
- Copy link to gist (click "Raw" in GitHub).
- Go to Blink Shell -> config -> Appearance -> Add a new font and paste the
font-family
and link to gist in the window. Add the font and choose it from the list. Close the configuration window. - The new font will only appear in new Blink windows. Tap with two fingers. Blink should open a new window and use the new font for displaying it.
