- Chip Wars
- You Sexy Thing, Cat Rambo
- Kaiju Preservation Society, John Scalzi
- A Psalm for the Wild-Built, Becky Chambers.
- How to Stop Time, Matt Haig. Fun quick read.
- Millionaire Teacher, Andrew Hallum. Super useful. More accessible than the Vicki Robbins book.
- Redshirts, John Scalzi. Funny.
- Klara & the Sun, Kazuo Ishiguro. Seen this on a bunch of lists, gave it a go. It was meh ok.
- The Scavenger Door, S. Palmer
- Driving the Deep, S. Palmer
- The Finder, S. Palmer
- How to Decide, Annie Duke
- How to Raise Kids Kids Who Aren't Assholes, Melinda Wenner Moyer
- Project Hail Mary, Andy Weir. No surprise, this was awesome. Audiobook really well done.
- Ready Player Two, Ernest Cline. Pleasantly surprised by this one. Really good extrapolation on where VR and virtual worlds might take humans.
- The Great Mental Models: General Thinking Concepts, Shane Parrish. Need to give it a second read.
- Your Money or Your Life, Vicki Robins
- Make Time, Excellent book. Typically not impressed with books like this, but lots of really practical advice.
- Minority Leader, Stacey Abrams. Great book. Lady will probably be president someday.
- Storyworthy, Matthew Dicks - Really recommend his "homework for life" idea, if you find your pandemic days are starting to blur together.
- Basketball, A Love Story: Lots of good stories about the history of the NBA. A long read, but way cool.
- The Day the World Came to Town: The book the musical 'Come from Away' is based on. It's alright.
- Deep Work: Useful ideas, but a difficult read to slog through, and not especially new ideas if you read the internet often.
- Evil Under the Sun, Agatha Christie: Never read Agatha Christie before, and chose something early. Wanted a bit of escapism from covid19.
- A Gentleman in Moscow, Amor Towles: Really enjoyed this.
- Hope Never Dies, Andrew Shaeffer
- Send More Tourists, the Last Ones Were Delicious, Tracey Waddleton - Written by a girl from home. Pretty neat little book; fun to read familiar scenes.
Trying to read a little more regularly this year. Below is a list of books read. And some not read.
- Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow - Decent, but I believe it's a translation and thus somewhat rough prose. Some great insights, so worth pushing through, but not as good as I expected.
- The Feather Thief: A strange account of an obsessive fly fisher who burgles a museum for rare feathers. Trippy story. Great little read.
- The Blue Zones Solution: Eating Like the World's Healthiest People - One of the most informative books I've ever read. Underscores a lot of the conclusions I've come towards regarding my own diet (mostly plant based, not a whole lot of meat).
- The Sleep Solution: Why Your Sleep is Broken and How to Fix it - I sleep ok, but you can always sleep better, right? Some great information here, definitely worth a read.
- All Systems Red - The first installment of The MurderBot Diaries. As good as the title sounds. Quick, super fun.
- You Think It, I'll Say It - Solid short story collection. Hope to read more female authors.
- A Memory Called Empire - An interesting science fiction book, with a clever premise on the inheritance of memory.
- Hot Sauce! Techniques for Making Signature Hot Sauces -- Not so much recipes for making hot sauces, as I'd hoped, but recipes using hot sauces. Disappointing, but some good stuff in there.
- The Hate You Give - Saw somewhere after reading that this is supposedly teen fiction. Still pretty great though.
- Artificial Condition - The second in the Murderbot Diaries, also way cool.
- Company of One
